DISCIPLESHIP RESOURCES
Empower your congregation to become disciples who make disciples by using these resources we've created to cultivate a discipling culture in your church.
WHAT IS A DISCIPLESHIP GROUP?
As a church, our mission is to make disciples who make disciples. Discipleship Groups (D-Groups) are gender specific groups of 3-5 people that meet weekly for 60-90 minutes to focus on spiritual growth through Bible reading, accountability, and prayer for the lost. The only items necessary to participate in a D-Group are a Bible, a journal, and a pen.
WHAT IS THE "SOAP" METHOD
S.O.A.P is an acronym Bible study method that stands for: Scripture, Observation, Application, Prayer. The journaling process goes like this:

First, write out the verse or passage of scripture that the Holy Spirit has shown you for that day as well as the reference.

Second, look at the surrounding context of the verse you selected and write down any observations. Try to explain the passage in your own words.

Third, ask how this verse might apply to your life. What is God calling you to do or to remember as a result? What is your next step and how can you be obedient?

Fourth, write out a closing prayer. Use this final section to speak back to God a request or commitment.
